Biographical Sketch
(275 words)

Heidi Vornbrock Roosa's first novel of psychological suspense was written under the pseudonym Regina Harvey and completed with the enthusiastic support of literary novelist, Madison Smartt Bell.

Her second novel, Extrasensory Deception, the first in a series of Suny Davis, reluctant teen psychic humorous mysteries, written under the pseudonym McLean Jacobson, won the 2004 Malice Domestic Grant for Unpublished Writers (under the title, Hypothesis for Murder).

In her own name, Heidi writes literary pieces, and is now at work on the expansion of a short story, “A Walk for Mr. Wilkes,” into a full-length novel examining the various meanings of success in life. Another short story, “Asterisims” was hand-selected by Madison Smartt Bell to represent, in their “Sampling” the fine caliber of writing at the Kratz Center for Creative Writing.

Heidi, like her protagonist Suny Davis, attended college early, where she swears she didn't create as much havoc as Suny does. There she studied languages and studio art, but eventually turned to psychology and the intriguing topics it encompasses.

She lives in Columbia, Maryland with her husband, Michael, Baltimore City Police Department Director of Managed Information Systems, and her three children. She is currently at work on the second Suny Davis humorous mystery, and is beginning another humorous mystery series featuring a misanthropic phytopathologist (plant disease specialist) who sleuths her way through the famous gardens of the world, as well as conducting research for two additional Regina Harvey psychological suspense novels.

When not at the writing desk in her attic study, Heidi is found in her gardens, reading, contorting herself into yoga positions, or active on some project in her beloved community.
